Jones was required to relocate to another school every throughout her time in high school as a result of her nomadic life. She also won this prize in high school. Jones was among the top hurdlers in her first year of the college. She was the winner of the 100-meter hurdle at the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. Also, she was a part of the winning team for the 100-meter relay. In 2003 and in 2004, Jones won the indoor hurdles event during the NCAA Championship. Jones was a professional athlete with the year 2005, after she finished her degree. She began to train for a successful track career. Jones won each of her events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events in the same year.

Brandt is a child of the Cape Town region. She grew up within Cape Town South Africa with her siblings and parents, relocated from Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand when she was in her teens. The local casting directors discovered her. Brandt assumed the character of Naevia for the Starz hits Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. Lesley-Ann Brandt is an South African actress who was born in Cape Town, South Africa on 2nd of December, 1981. She's a very talented New Zealand actor. Lesley Brandt along with the other members of her family moved to Auckland New Zealand, in 1999. The first time she worked within Auckland as a store manager after which she was made an IT manager consultant. Following a couple of modeling projects, Lesley appeared in many commercials.
