Yael Stone, a native of Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as the prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael received her NIDA diploma. Her early work experience has enabled her to work with some of Australia's best storytellers. Yael's professional career is thriving and thriving in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was pleased to have found her new home when Brooklyn Academy of Music, where the show played with critical acclaim, became the place she now calls New York City. Yael is co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery is a studio located at Bushwick, Brooklyn, the business supports the development of new writing as well as innovative, creative exploits.
